F.A.Q.
Have a question? See the answers to the most commonly asked below, or check the product page for product specific questions. If your question isn't there, please contact us - we would love to help!
Are your products natural?
Absolutely, and always!
At our heart is a commitment to pure, natural formulations, enriched with organic ingredients to enhance their potency and purity. We also understand that “natural” means different things to different people, which is why we have a whole page dedicated to (re)defining it here.
Do you use synthetic fragrances?
Absolutely not.
All our fragrances are strictly natural - no synthetics ever. While some artificial scents may be tempting, the risk of irritation, dizzy heads and endocrine disruption is a compromise we are simply not willing to make.
We use our natural fragrance sparingly, and relative to the application. For example, our skincare range includes the gentlest touch (or none at all), while our body care range is designed to create A Moment Worth Stepping Into.
Each fragrance is created exclusively for Olympia & Órla by some of the country's leading perfumers. They are produced in the fragrance capital of the world - Grasse, France, and are IFRA compliant.
Using natural products should never mean missing out on indulgence and our fragrances (& products) are proof of that.

Where are your products made?
All our products are proudly crafted here in New Zealand, inspired by the beauty of nature that surrounds us.
Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?
All our products are cruelty-free, of course (and thankfully that's a standard upheld by New Zealand law). It is a commitment we will always stand by.
Many of our products are also vegan, although a select few contain Mānuka Honey, chosen for its exceptional skin benefits.
You’ll find this information clearly displayed on each product page, as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency in the beauty industry.
Are your products waterless?
Most skincare and bodycare products are made predominantly from water (usually upwards of 60%) however we have challenged the status quo and chosen to use bases that actually serve you. All our product bases use healing, soothing and calming ingredients such as aloe vera leaf juice so you get goodness in every drop.
Our products are not strictly waterless (as some of our incredible actives include small amounts of water) but we don’t add water as a sole ingredient to our products.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! All our products are designed with sensitive skin in mind. We stay away from harsh preservatives as per our commitment to re-imagining natural beauty and have had amazing feedback from many people with sensitive skin.
Please remember though, that everyone's skin is different and with new products we always recommend to do a patch test before use.
Why do you use NZ native ingredients in your products?
We wanted to create New Zealand botanical skincare that actually works.
OceanDerMX™ is a beautiful blend of NZ native Red Seaweed, Mamaku Black Fern, Kawakawa & Mānuka Honey. A unique New Zealand complex that soothes irritation, reduces visible redness, and supports skin renewal. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits.
We have combined this with other proven, high performing skincare ingredients to create, what we believe to be, the best facial mist in New Zealand (& many of our customers agree).
While not a native plant, in our Pink Clay Facial Scrub we have used ZeaDerMX™ (Organic NZ Green Tea Extract) – A unique, award winning New Zealand complex that is extracted for maximum potency. It helps to protect skin from environmental pollution, UV and blue light damage and against premature ageing. It is calming, anti-inflammatory and moisturising. This green tea extract also helps to brighten and energise skin.
New Zealand has many revolutionary skincare ingredients, made right here, and we aim to include these in all our formulas where there is a clear benefit to you.
How long until I see results?
Most of our products are designed to give you immediate results, as well as further long term benefits.
Our skin cell turnover is approximately 28 days and some results take time to form. We recommend committing to any new product for 8-12 weeks before deciding if it's for you or not (we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised much earlier than this however!).
Where do your products ship from?
Our products ship from New Zealand, and are typically delivered within 2-3 working days for local deliveries.
For more details on shipping, including international timeframes, please visit our shipping page.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes! We use recyclable bottles and boxes.
We chose aluminium because it is infinitely recyclable and more earth friendly than plastic (you can read more about that here). We also don’t believe the world needs more plastic. In saying that, our tops are made from plastic because there isn’t a better option available to us yet. These can be recycled in New Zealand through programmes such as Terracycle. Our product and courier boxes are also made from recyclable cardboard and as we grow, so will our commitment to sustainability.
